It is with a sense of real sadness that we announce the formal closure of our South African Office and our Liaison Company, Eclipse Financial Services (Pty) Limited with effect from 1st June 2007.

Our connection with South Africa dates back to 1995, as old as the ADASTRA Group but the direction of our business has evolved significantly during the last 12 years and as most of our South African contacts continue to advise us; “...we are happy with our existing position in South Africa, we neither need nor want additional offshore exposure or services...”  Whilst inevitably there are those that feel differently, we have found that our exposure to these clients is at best sporadic and we face a dwindling rather than expanding South African business. 

With this in mind, it is time to face economic facts and that is simply that we cannot continue to justify keeping a South African Liaison Office staffed and runnning when it has been almost 2 years since we received any contact via this facility.  Realistically, all of our clients now either use the secure ADASTRA messaging service, e-mail or telephone to contact us and reluctantly we have therefore been led to this purely business decision.

For all existing clients, we remain freely accessible via the above-mentioned methods, all current reporting methods and frequencies will be maintained as usual, and we will still be making trips into South Africa on an ad-hoc basis should you wish to have face-to-face meetings with an Adviser.

We wish to take this opportunity of thanking those in Eclipse Financial Services (Pty) Limited that so graciously gave of their time and resources to assist over the past 6 years and we look forward to seeing you on a social basis when next in town.
